There is nothing better than fall! The coziness of our home filled with fall décor and the smell of spiced apple simmering on the stove! One thing that is truly a family favorite around here is the fall food! You can’t go through this fall season without trying this pumpkin bread recipe!

Ingredients
1 ½ cups unbleached flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ginger (optional)
½ cup honey or maple syrup (I use raw honey)
½ cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup mixed walnuts and pecans
½ cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.

In another bowl, combine the honey (or maple syrup), applesauce, pumpkin puree, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. If using, fold in the nuts or seeds and chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Slice and enjoy your healthy pumpkin bread! It’s great for breakfast, snack time, or even dessert with a bit of vanilla ice cream.

Enjoy baking this healthy pumpkin bread! It’s a cozy treat that the whole family will love.

A Few Tips
