The Magic Of A Real Christmas Tree

As the Christmas season approaches, my heart fills with excitement, and my home transforms into a Christmas wonderland. One of my favorite traditions is picking out the perfect Christmas tree. As a mom, I’ve discovered that choosing a real Christmas tree brings a multitude of benefits that go beyond just aesthetics. Here’s why I believe in the magic of a real tree and why it’s worth considering for your family this year.

A picturesque evergreen tree stands in a snowy winter landscape, evoking seasonal charm.

There’s nothing quite like driving to that Christmas tree farm and feeling like you have stepped into a Hallmark movie. The smell of a real Christmas tree filling your home. The fresh pine aroma evokes cherished memories of Christmas past and creates a cozy, festive atmosphere. It’s a feeling that a fake tree simply can’t replicate. Now don’t get me wrong I also love fake tress for different reasons. Like being able to decorate in early November and not having to clean up the pine needles everywhere. But there just something so special about a real tree!

Choosing a real tree has become a cherished family tradition for us. We bundle up, grab some hot cocoa, and head to a local tree farm. The excitement builds as we explore rows of trees, searching for the perfect one. This is honestly my favorite part of getting a real tree. It creates lasting memories for me and my family.

Real Christmas trees are an eco-friendly choice and I always have the environment at the top of my list. Many tree farms practice sustainable farming, planting new trees to replace those that are harvested. These trees also help absorb carbon dioxide and provide habitats for wildlife. When we choose a real tree, we’re supporting our local farmers which is near and dear to my heart.

Having a real tree opens up opportunities for teaching my kids about nature and responsibility. We discuss the importance of trees, the environment, and the life cycle of plants. It’s a wonderful way to instill values of sustainability and appreciation for the world around us. Plus, after the holidays, we recycle our tree by feeding it to our goats and sheep, showing the kids that nature can continue to give back even after the season ends.

Every real Christmas tree is unique, with its own shape, size, and character. This means that no two years are ever the same in our home. Each tree tells its own story, and I love how that adds to the charm of our Christmas decor.

The act of selecting a real tree connects us to time-honored traditions that have been passed down through generations. It reminds me of my own childhood, when we would venture out as a family to find our tree. By continuing this tradition with my children, I hope to instill in them a love for the Christmas season and the importance of family traditions.

Once we bring our tree home, the fun truly begins! Decorating the tree is a family affair. We pull out our collection of ornaments! We do tend to have more than one tree each year. I love having my designer inspired tree and family tree. Each ornament on our family tree holds a special memory and we get to reminisce as we hang them. The process of decorating becomes a celebration in itself, filled with laughter, joy and Christmas music as we create a beautiful centerpiece for our Christmas festivities.

As a mom who LOVES Christmas, choosing a real tree is about so much more than just having a beautiful decoration in our home. It’s about creating lasting memories, fostering family traditions, and embracing the magic of the season. If you’re considering a tree for your home this year, I encourage you to think about the joys and benefits of a real Christmas tree. Trust me, it will make your Christmas season just a little more magical!
