Healthy Coconut Cream Recipe for Hot Chocolate

I am all about finding and creating healthy alternatives to al the things Iove! Here’s a healthy version of coconut cream perfect for hot chocolate that uses all natural sweeteners!

Ingredients
1 can (13.5 oz) full-fat coconut cream (chilled)
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of salt

Optional: 1 tablespoon cocoa powder for a chocolatey flavor

Directions
Place the can of coconut cream in the refrigerator overnight.

Using a hand mixer or whisk, beat the coconut cream until fluffy and light, about 3 minutes.

Gradually add the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. If you’d like a chocolatey twist, mix in the cocoa powder. Continue to whip until fully combined and smooth.

Place a dollop of it on top of your hot chocolate. Enjoy immediately!

NOTES
For added flavor, you can include a sprinkle of cinnamon or a few drops of almond extract.
Store any leftover coconut cream in the refrigerator for up to three days, and re-whip before using.
